Principal Investigator Rahul Jain awarded University prize

CQT Principal Investigator Rahul Jain has received a National University of Singapore Young Researcher Award 2012 for his “breakthrough contributions to our understanding of proofs and computation”.

The University Awards were announced at a ceremony on 4 May. Rahul is one of only three faculty to receive the Young Researcher Award, which is open to researchers under the age of 40. The award carries a cash prize and a research grant.

NUS President Professor Tan Chorh Chuan said: "The University Awards honour and recognise members in our community who stand out for their passion, boldness and achievements. Their outstanding contributions towards transformative education, high-impact research and dedicated service are pivotal in creating value for our country and society, and in advancing NUS' standing as a prominent thought-leader."

Rahul co-leads one of CQT's computer science groups and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science. He was nominated for the award in part for his work on interactive quantum proofs, particularly the significant discovery that QIP=IP=PSPACE. The full citation is here.
