Research Engineer / Research Fellow (Experimental Quantum Communications)

Description:

The group of CQT Fellow, Dr Charles Lim, is looking for three highly motivated and skilled researchers (postdocs or engineers) to join his Quantum Information group at NUS Engineering to work on experimental quantum communication. The successful applicant is expected to focus on, but not limited to, (1) the development of experimental schemes for quantum secure communication and quantum integrated photonics devices, (2) the development of high-speed/low-noise electronics and control systems for quantum communication, and (3) the research of new algorithms for key distillation.

 

Qualifications:

 

Research Engineer requirements:

 

 

  • A recognised Masters / Bachelor degree in related physics or engineering field; specifically in experimental physics or electrical and computer engineering.

  • Ideally at least 2 years’ of relevant hands-on experience in electronic design and testing, mainly on high-speed/low-noise amplifiers and FPGA development.

  • Quantum background is not necessary; you can learn on the job.

  • Salary and position will commensurate with applicant’s experience.

  • Good written and verbal communications

  • Open to fixed term contract (up to 4 years)

  • Team player

 

Research Fellow requirements:

 

  • A recognised PhD in related physics or engineering field; specifically in experimental physics or electrical and computer engineering.

  • Good knowledge and experience in implementing state-of-the-art quantum key distribution systems.

  • Ideally some experience in FPGA-based QKD systems.

  • Salary and position will commensurate with applicant’s experience.

  • Good written and verbal communications

  • Open to fixed term contract (up to 4 years)

  • Team player
