Research Fellow (Quantum Optics)

Job Purpose:

 

 

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in the experimental quantum optics group of Dr Tristan Farrow and Prof Vlatko Vedral at the Centre for Quantum Technologies, Singapore. The selected researcher will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Condensed Matter group of Professor Robert Taylor at the University of Oxford.

 

Requirements:

 

A strong background in quantum optics and of micro-photoluminescence spectroscopy techniques at cryogenic temperatures, and/or of single-molecule spectroscopy, in addition to an understanding of quantum physics.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, with a proven track record of experimental design and data analysis.

Desirable skills:

Experience with numerical modelling, such as of optical cavity QED, will be an advantage.


Degree:

Applicants should hold a PhD in physics or physical chemistry or a closely related field.

The post is available initially for a fixed-term duration of 24 months, with the possibility of extension for a further 12 months.
